Airlines’ Liabilities to Passengers During Turbulence Incidents: Insights from the Indonesian Legal Framework

Turbulence is a frequent phenomenon in aviation, yet its impact on passengers necessitates thorough examination, particularly when it results in damage or injury. Recent turbulence incidents (such as the Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore in May and the Korean Air flight from Incheon to Taichung, Taiwan in June) might have accentuated the needs to address passenger rights and the liabilities of airlines. In this regard, we explored the liabilities that airlines hold towards passengers during turbulence incidents within the Indonesian legal framework.
